Bridesmaid Arrested For Drunken, Violent Outburst

It was like something out of the movie "Bridesmaids." A maid of honor was arrested for hitting a guest and nearly driving over the best man while "raging drunk" at her best friend's wedding in Punta Gorda, Florida, on Jan. 6.

As soon as the ceremony ended and the reception started, Amanda Willis, 35, ruined what should have been the happiest day of the bride's life, reports WBBF.

"She was drunk within 20 minutes to half an hour," said Jennifer Butler, the bride.

While bride and groom, Jennifer and Brian Butler, cut their wedding cake and had their first dance, Willis reportedly began her reckless descent into drunken chaos.

"She was a mess. She drank almost a whole entire bottle of Fireball [whiskey]," said guest Robert Templeton.

As the night progressed, Willis asked the guests give her their car keys, eventually stealing the best man's when he refused.

"She just went up to the best man and grabbed his keys out of his pocket and jumped in his car," said Templeton.

She then drove off in his car and nearly hit the best man -- Brian's brother, David -- when he tried to stop her from backing out of the parking spot.

"She took off, and his feet were dragging across the ground. He had to hit the E-brake," said Templeton.

The wedding guests even had to wrestle Willis out of the car.

"She went back inside. She grabbed up the big bottle of Captain Morgan [rum] and just guzzled it like this," Jennifer said, imitating the way Willis guzzled the liquor.

After Willis punched Templeton in the face, and him hitting her back, the police were finally called in to subdue her. "As soon as I turned around, she came up and cracked me upside of the face," said Templeton.

As soon as authorities arrived, Willis feigned an asthma attack and pretended to convulse as if she were having a seizure, according to the Daily Mail.

"It was insane. Absolutely insane," said Jena Templeton.

But it didn't end there. When the 35-year-old was taken to the hospital, she flashed the cops, assaulted two medics and kicked over her bed pan, police say.

"She had her be her maid of honor, and it was a bad decision," said Templeton.

Needless to say, the bride has severed her relationship with Willis. The wild bridesmaid now faces charges of larceny, battery, grand theft of a motor vehicle and violation of probation. It was her ninth arrest in the county.
