Jennifer Aniston reportedly responded to the impending divorce of ex-husband Brad Pitt and his wife, Angelina Jolie.
Aniston allegedly equated the couple’s divorce to karma while discussing it with a friend upon hearing the news.
“Yeah, that’s karma for you!” Aniston reportedly said. An insider confirmed that Aniston was expecting the pair to divorce at some point.
“She always got the sense that something would happen with them eventually,” the insider told Us Magazine. “She didn’t feel that Angelina was truly the one who Brad was meant to stay with. She always felt that Angelina was too complex for him. He’s a pretty simple guy.”
While Aniston reportedly feels “sort of satisfied” about the split between Angelina and Brad, she also “never wanted this for them or wished this on them.”
“Jen does wish Brad luck and the best. She feels like she’s happy, and she wants him to be happy too,” another insider said. “Jen does not hold on to any negativity from her marriage to Brad.”
Another source close to Aniston -- who Pitt left in 2005 for Jolie after the two had an affair -- confirmed that she always knew something major would happen between them.
“Everyone in Jennifer’s inner circle regards Angelina as a crazy master manipulator,” the source told Page Six. “But we all presumed the end of their affair would be Angelina leaving Brad for someone else.”
Since her divorce from Pitt, Aniston moved on and married actor and writer Justin Theroux.
Pitt and Jolie reportedly divorced over the Fight Club actor’s methods when it came to raising their six children, which Jolie allegedly did not approve of.
“They fought a lot over the years and disagreed about many things,” an insider told Us Weekly. Rumors that the divorce had something to do with an affair between Pitt and fellow ‘Allied’ star Marion Cotillard have so far been denied, thought Cotillard was said to have been “devastated” by the rumors.
