The actress and activist Jane Fonda has been arrested for the fourth time this Friday, marking this the 4th Friday in a row of her arrest. Fonda states that she had just recently moved to Washington for four months now, to help raise awareness of climate change and battle the devastating after-effects of the climate crisis.

The 81-year old actress had told Christiane Amanpour of CNN on her released statement "There is a collective crisis, requires collective action, and so I decided to use my celebrity [status] to try to raise the sense of urgency, and I moved to Washington, and I'm going to get arrested every Friday. Why be a celebrity if you can’t leverage it for something that is this important?”

Fonda also calls her protests as "Fire Drill Fridays”, where she plans to get arrested on each week’s Friday. Along with various other similar advocacy organizations, she gathers at the US Capitol to raise awareness of the Earth’s current climate change crisis, as well as bringing other factors of the issue into play, such as militarism, women and human rights.

The short summary of Fonda’s arrest are as follows, with the first arrest being on October 11th. On her next arrest, she had ben joined by her fellow co-star and actress Sam Waterston, from the Netflix show "Grace & Frankie" last October 18th. Her third arrest was joined again with another fellow actor and star Ted Danson by October 25th as well as other protestors, and finally on her fourth and latest arrest on November 1st. It had also been the first time that Fonda had spent her detainment overnight, all in the connection of her protests.

The star actress had also made plans to continue her advocacy until Mid-January, and also expects to celebrate her 82nd birthday in jail by the 21st of December.
