A Taco Bell worker in Missouri was fired from her job after having a debate with a drive-thru customer, namely Tarek Hamdan who is a Muslim. Reportedly, the customer went to a Taco Bell drive-thru to get a meal before the start of his Ramadan fast.
However, things had an unexpected turn after he was confronted by the drive-thru employee who started slamming him with profane statements and anti-Muslim language, as well as foregrounding that all Muslims are terrorists.
Fortunately, Hamdan recorded everything. He posted the video on his Facebook account that went viral with the caption:
“Around 1 A.M. after a busy day at work & not being able to eat from a long day of fasting for #Ramadan, I went to Taco Bell to buy some food for suhoor (pre-dawn meal/breakfast) but, ended up having a 25-minute debate with this worker who insisted ALL Muslims are terrorists.”
It was also seen on the video that Hamdan attempted to defend himself telling the Taco Bell employee that he hates terrorists as well. He even patiently tried to explain to the woman that a few people have given Muslims a bad reputation. However, the Islamophobic employee remained unconvinced.
“Muslim motherf***ers can suck my d***, 'cause they tore down my country, they killed thousands of my people,” the unnamed employee ranted.
After posting the first video, which immediately gained numerous Facebook comments, Hamdan posted a second video that allegedly showed the employee taking his order back and closing the drive-thru window on him. He also mentioned that there was another employee who appeared to be a male. Hamdan claimed that the employees informed him that his debit card was rejected, even though he never presented the workers his card.
A few days since the incident took place, Taco Bell confirmed that the employee was already fired. It also responded about the incident by issuing the following statement to St. Louis, Missouri, news station KTVI:
“We welcome everyone in our restaurants and do not tolerate this type of behavior. This is a franchise location and the team member involved no longer works for this franchisee. The franchisee has reached out to the customer to apologize.”
