Ivanka Trump, for the first time since President Joe Biden was inaugurated, posted an update on social media announcing that she had been vaccinated against COVID-19.

Her post sparked backlash from some of her fans.

In the Instagram post, Ivanka can be seen on the pic getting her vaccine shot in Florida, her home state. She captioned the post: “Today, I got the shot!!! I hope that you do too! Thank you Nurse Torres!!!”

In a statement to the Associated Press (AP), Ivanka confirmed that she had received the Pfizer vaccine.

She encouraged her followers to also get vaccinated, but some expressed their disagreement with her decision and distrust of the vaccine.

“Nope not putting that in my body,” one person commented.

Another person wrote: “No thanks! With a 99% survival rate, I shall pass. With Bill Gates involved I will not get one.”

“Because of the 99.8% survival rate of a virus they’ve never identified? Anthony Fauci and Andrew Cuomo would be proud,” a third commented.

“Ugh. A vaccine for a HOAX?” another comment read.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reported that there have been over 31 million coronavirus cases in the United States, and more than 560,000 deaths.

As of April 15, 2021, 37.3 percent of the U.S. population had gotten at least one dose of the vaccine while 23.1 percent were fully vaccinated.
