Woman Passes Out And Forgets The Last 40 Years (Video)

56-year-old Kim Denicola suffered a sudden headache and passed out on the spot after attending a Bible class in her church. When she woke up in the hospital, she had apparently lost 40 years of her adult memory.

Kim thought that the year was 1980 and that she was 18 years old. She also believed that Ronald Reagan was in the White House. Kim had no memory of her husband, children, and grandchildren. She had even forgotten about their family business or everything that had happened to her in the last 40 years.

Doctors later found out that Kim was suffering from a condition known as ‘transient global amnesia' which features a sudden and temporary episode of memory loss. However, Kim’s case puzzled doctors as they could not figure out why her memories did not return.

However, the 56-year-old grandmother is slowly relearning things and was introduced to her children, ideally, for the first time.

"I saw my oldest son Justin for the first time just before Christmas. I haven't met my son Jonathan yet because he is in the Navy," Kim shared in an interview.

"I didn't know who Donald Trump was and I didn't know who Barack Obama or Bill Clinton was either. It's been very interesting to see how different it is from the 80s now, how much things have changed," she added.

Despite her condition, Kim is grateful that she has a family that supports her every step of the way.

"I have been through so much pain, but my husband’s and my family's support has seen me through it. Maybe one day I'll get those memories back, maybe I won't. But I'm taking each day as it comes," Kim shared.

"I am slowly putting names and faces together, and I'm learning how to live in 2019. If the memories don't come back, I can make new ones."
