Former president Barack Obama reportedly spent a shocking amount of money on accommodations for his trip to Italy – staying at a luxury villa in Tuscany and a five-star hotel in Milan. Obama spoke at a sold-out climate change conference on May 9, and met with former Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi, all the while staying at a $20,000 per night villa in Tuscany and taking two floors of the Park Hyatt hotel in Milan – where presidential suites cost nearly $10,000 per night. Trump is spending way more taxpayer funds on vacation and travel than any recent president. Here’s the breakdown: Trump is spending way more taxpayer funds on vacation and travel than any recent president. Here’s the breakdown: Obama and Renzi met privately during his visit, months after Renzi resigned from his position and started leading the Italian Democratic Party.

“The two leaders were close partners and became good friends while in office,” Renzi’s spokesman said in a statement, Daily Mail reported. The trip came after several high-profile, post-presidency vacations for Obama and his family – beginning immediately after the inauguration of Donald Trump when Obama and former First Lady Michelle vacationed with billionaire Richard Branson on his private island. Many readers expressed shock over the amount of money Obama’s trip cost, with some questioning why American citizens still have to pay for his Secret Service detail considering what he can afford.

“Wish we could confiscate the money to pay toward the MASSIVE debt he added to our country. Hard to believe there are that many people who would waste that kind of money to see this lying, thieving piece of garbage. But then again, as sad as it is, Satan does have quite a following and O is evil to the core. God will prevail, but he certainly has his hands full,” one Mad World News reader commented on the site’s Facebook page.

“Two floors, helicopter surveillance, massive security protection officers, and then they say Trump spends the most on security. Time to put a stop to this “supposed god” and put a cap on what past presidents can have as safe protection. This is still costing the taxpayers massive amounts of money. HE IS NOT the president any longer,” another wrote. “Why the hell do the tax payers have to pay for HIS agenda???? I think he should be limited to $150/day.

The rest is on him. HE can afford it!!!” another added. Others felt that Obama should be left alone considering the fact that he’s no longer in office. “He isn’t your president anymore so what he does is none of your business unless it affects you. You have more to worry about in the president that you have now what with all the people who end up with no medical insurance,” one reader wrote.
