Giuliani: Clinton Worst Secretary Of State ‘In A Hundred Years’
According to former New York City Mary Rudy Giuliani, Hillary Clinton was “the worst U.S. Secretary of State in a hundred years” and has no business criticizing Donald Trump’s foreign policy proposals and experience.
In a June 3 interview with the Independent, Giuliani, who has endorsed Donald Trump for president, criticized Clinton for her harsh attacks on Trump during her June 2 foreign policy speech.
“It wasn’t a speech on foreign policy,” Giuliani told the Independent during a black tie event at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. “It was a speech attacking Donald Trump.”
Giuliani, who served as mayor during the September 11 attacks, said that Clinton’s words would backfire due to her “abysmal” foreign policy record.
“If I was Hillary Clinton I would never have given a speech on foreign policy at all,” he said.
“Her record as Secretary of State was abysmal,” he added. “She let the Middle East fall apart, for instance.”
Clinton gave a lengthy foreign affairs speech in San Diego on June 2 in which she blasted Trump for being “thin-skinned and quick to anger,” saying that someone who “lashes out at the smallest criticism” should not have access to nuclear codes, according to CNN.
“Imagine Donald Trump sitting in the Situation Room, making life-or-death decisions on behalf of the United States,” Clinton said. “Imagine him deciding whether to send your spouses or children into battle. Imagine if he had not just his Twitter account at his disposal when he’s angry, but America’s entire arsenal.”
Giuliani, who is reportedly close to Trump, tentatively endorsed the candidate in April but said that he intended to keep his distance from the real estate mogul’s campaign.
“I’m Rudy Giuliani, I mean a lot in New York politics, I endorse Donald Trump, but I’m not a part of the campaign,” he said at the time. “I’m not a part of the campaign apparatus and I don’t want people to think I am.”
